About

We have made many adjustments due to the Coronavirus to help ensure your safety and the health and safety of those we serve. I wanted to let you know that our new hours for this service opportunity are 8:30 am- 11 am possibly ending sooner. Volunteer check-in will take place daily at 8:30 am in the parking lot behind our main building and distribution will begin at 9 am.

We are working outside serving boxes of food in a mobile food distribution. There is ample social distancing, gloves provided, and we are asking volunteers to bring their own face covering/mask.

We still need volunteers to come help us direct traffic and distribute this food to our neighbors in need. However following CDC guidelines, all staff/volunteers at high-risk of severe illness from COVID-19 will be prohibited from serving at this time. Based upon available information to date, those at high-risk for severe illness from COVID-19 include:

•         People aged 65 years and older
•         People who live or work in a nursing home or long-term care facility
•         Other high-risk conditions could include:
o   People with chronic lung disease or moderate to severe asthma
o   People who have heart disease with complications
o   People who are immunocompromised including cancer treatment
o   People of any age with underlying medical conditions, particularly if not well controlled, such as those with diabetes, renal failure, or liver disease
•         People who are pregnant since they are known to be at risk with severe viral illness, however, to date data on COVID-19 has not shown increased risk

Our community is in crisis, and the work of Catholic Charities meets a critical need. Our work is needed now more than ever, and we hope you can join us!
