About

A Red Hawk Academic Mentor (RAMP) Core Member provides one-on-one academic mentoring with students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Responsibilities include effectively developing authentic relationships with mentee scholars, participating in all training workshops and meetings, and effectively communicating with Middle School Success Coordinator, AmeriCorps Member, other team members, and Team Leader. 

  •  Work with team members to ensure that all scholars are receiving a healthy, positive, and consistent experience in the RAMP program.
  • Effectively communicate with Middle School Success Coordinator, AmeriCorps Service Member, Team Leader, and peers (Core Members working in RAMP After School will also need to effectively communicate with other Washington Middle school staff, and families).
  • The RAMP After School Core Members will work with the AmeriCorps Service Member and a Team Leader to ensure that RAMP After School is functioning in a healthy, positive, enriching, and consistent fashion. RAMP After School programming takes place on Mondays (3:45 to 5:30) and Wednesdays (2:30 to 4:30).
  • Daytime RAMP begins on Monday, October 14th (operating programming between the 8:55 to 3:45 – M, T, Th, F only) (individual academic mentoring)
  • Daytime classroom assistant positions are also available, SU student academic schedules will be taken into account when scheduling happens.
